Terminal Position Assurance (TPA) is a component in electrical connectors, ensuring that terminals are securely and accurately positioned within the connector housing.

TPA mechanisms function by utilizing a secondary locking system that slides into the connector housing, engaging grooves on the terminal body. If the terminal is not fully seated, the secondary lock will not engage properly, preventing potential issues such as contact back-out or poor electrical performance. Once the terminal is correctly positioned, the lock can be inserted, securing the terminal in place.
